Experience
I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Applied Geophysics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. My goal after graduation is to begin a career in seismic hazards site assessment or work for the USGS. I also attended Northern Arizona University during my undergraduate studies. I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, and I have taught many types of science and math for several years. I have worked with people ranging in age from elementary school students to college students. The math course I have the most experience tutoring is early high school math, but I can also tutor advanced math courses up to Calculus III. I also have a lot of experience tutoring many of the sciences, including the earth sciences. When I tutor, I like to relate my lessons to the real world; I show a student how they will use a math concept later in real life or how a scientific concept is taking place around them. I believe in keeping a great attitude when I teach, because this helps many students develop a more positive outlook on the courses they once found frustrating, and maybe even begin to love them. I strive to help my students achieve great success in their courses.
