Experience

In terms of tutoring in a professional setting, this will be my first time. However, I have extensive experience tutoring my peers and I have no doubt in my abilities to simplify difficult material. I am confident that when I have tutored on a casual basis in the past, my students have left with a solid, conceptual understanding of the material. I like tutoring because I can relate to struggling through material alone and feeling as if I would never understand it. Tutoring enables me to help people through these struggles, and offer them relief and satisfaction by overcoming these academic hurdles. The personal satisfaction that I derive from tutoring definitely fuels my desire to enter some form of pedagogy in the future. Regarding my education, I am currently enrolled in the "Seven Year Liberal Arts and Medical Education Program" at Boston University. I applied to this elite program(5% acceptance rate) out of high school, and essentially my undergraduate degree was accelerated and will be completed in three years instead of the standard four. At the end of the Spring 2015 semester, I will be promoted to the Medical School. I am very nervous as well as excited to start the next leg of my journey towards becoming a physician. I have taken the standard undergraduate premedical coursework(2 semesters General Chemistry, 2 Semesters Organic Chemistry, 2 semesters Calculus Based Physics, 3 Semesters Biology) as well as a graduate level Biochemistry class. I would love to tutor any science related subject as well as math below Calculus BC/Second Semester College Calculus. I am very, very patient because I remember how hard some of these concepts were for me. Regarding College Board tests, please contact me and I will let you know if I am comfortable tutoring for these tests. There are some standardized tests(eg SAT Math II) that I do not feel totally comfortable tutoring. I want your child to be able to get the best tutoring available and I will not tutor a subject unless I feel I can provide exactly that. What I think differentiates me from other tutors on this website is that I only graduated high school three years ago. As a result, I am still very familiar with the hoops high school students have to jump through. Hobbies

As I write this profile, I am wrapping up my last semester by studying abroad in London. Needless to say, it has been a great respite from the fiery infernos of premed. In my free time I spend a lot of time in the gym, and I wanted to try joining a boxing gym this summer. During the winters I like snowboarding and I have even hit the slopes with the Boston University Snowboard Team. I picked up surfing during the summer of my Junior Year of High School, and I love relaxing out on the water whenever possible.
