I have been working as a tutor since the beginning of high school, assisting many different ages of students in a variety of coursework. I love working as a tutor because I feel an incredible sense of purpose and achievement watching students succeed with my help, and really enjoy teaching. I worked all through high school as a tutor at the elementary school my mom is a teacher at, with students ranging from the first through fifth grade. I scored a 35 on the ACT so I also feel confident working to specifically prepare older students for that test. In addition, I currently work as a writing consultant at the Center for Writing and Public Discourse at Claremont McKenna College. In this position, I meet with peers to tutor them in writing and help them with specific assignments. This position, and the experience and training I have acquired from it, have made me a more effective tutor in all forms of writing, particularly in students in higher levels of schooling.

Hobbies
I was lucky enough to be raised in Lake Tahoe, California, and acquired a love for the outdoors when I was very young. In the warmer months I love to hike, backpack and run; I ran my first marathon 6 months ago! When the snow comes to Tahoe I like to ski and snowboard, I also just got a pair of snowshoes I'm excited to try out this winter. I am an avid reader and I work at a college radio station where I have my own DJ show. While not exactly a hobby, I nannied a family full time the past two summers and love spending time with children!
