ExperienceI graduated from Claremont Graduate University with a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Cultural Studies. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, where I majored in both English and International Relations. During the past 15 years, I've taught courses at the college level. Some of the courses I've taught include writing, literature, history, visual culture, and critical theory. I also teach essay writing, American history, and social studies, and help students with test prep for standardized tests such as the SAT and AP exams. I can assist students at all skills levels in English. I can help students hone their critical thinking skills in the areas of writing and reading, essay development, and debate. Additionally, I can help with basics such as organization, grammar, and vocabulary. I'm also skilled at tutoring in American history and general social studies. Finally, I'd like to add that I am capable of assisting students with diversity and multicultural themed coursework. During my free time, I train for triathlons and half marathons, and I also enjoy listening to music, reading, and writing.
