Currently a tutor for the University of Redlands Academic Success Center. I have recommendations from my teachers in each of the subjects I tutor, and I also obtained a 3.3 or higher in each of the courses. I am a CRLA-certified tutor, and am currently taking advanced organic chemistry. My overall GPA is a 3.43. I enjoy tutoring chemistry because I like taking complex ideas and simplifying them, allowing anyone to enjoy the experience of learning the new concepts. I am experienced at making daunting concepts clear, simple, and fun. I employ a variety of techniques, from interactive exercises, to visual representations of abstract ideas, to creating tailored example questions based on the specific areas each student needs to practice.

Hobbies
Academically, my interests are biochemistry and neuroscience. I am planning to get a Ph.D in biochemistry and do research as a career. Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors, swimming, and going to the beach. I am from Santa Cruz, CA, and I am hoping to go back to the Bay Area for grad school. I enjoy discussing science with anyone, and I specifically enjoy going to scientific conferences featuring other undergraduate researchers so I can learn what others are doing in the field. The research I am currently doing at the University of Redlands is focused on analyzing several strains of bacteria to determine why they are resistant to our immune system. I have presented this research at university events and at conferences, and I enjoy the experience of sharing my work with other people in the field.
