Education

I graduated from Pomona College in May 2015 with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Sociology. My GPA was 3.7. Though I majored in sociology, I completed classes in the departments of neuroscience, chemistry, math, and history. I believe my liberal arts college experience has allowed me to be a well-rounded and learned person.

Experience

For two years, I taught, coordinated and implemented lesson plans in a Weekly Writing Workshop for 4th-9th graders. My passion and my ultimate goal is to become a teacher. In my sophomore year of college, I participated in an internship where I taught 8th grade biology for a 6-week summer program. Relevant classes I have taken involving education include sociology classes, as well as a Prisons and Public Education class. In both classes, I learned about educational inequality and how to be culturally sensitive and aware when going into a classroom or teaching setting.

Hobbies

In my free time, I stay active. I ride my bike everywhere, and enjoy swimming during the summer. I write in my journal, read books, and do arts and crafts in my free time.
